OBITUARIES Rolf J. Petersen died


March 28, 2015. He was 60. Petersen was a key member of the Modern Casting team for more than 25 years, serving as both an advertising sales representative and mar- keting manager for the magazine dur- ing his career with AFS. Petersen was part of the team that helped expand Modern Casting’s reach from a single print publication for metalcasters into three magazines, a video channel and a distinct digital media serving the metalcasting supply chain. “Rolf was well-loved in the met-

ane, and three daughters, Dana, Chelsea and Hillary. Anton “Tony” Dorfmueller Jr. died


April 9, 2015. He was 88. Dorfmueller had a long career with Ashland Chemi- cal Co., Covington, Ky., including responsibilities as group vice president, foundry and international; group vice president, performance chemicals; and group vice president, worldwide op- erations. An AFS member since 1949, Dorfmueller received the Joseph S. Sea- man gold medal in 1970 for outstand- ing contributions in research, process development and inventions and served as an AFS Director, Class of 1987; AFS President, 1987-88; and CMI Direc- tor, 1986-89. Dorfmueller presented at many AFS chapter and regional meet- ings and is the author of several papers published in international journals. He also was active in the Casting Industry Suppliers Association and the Foundry Educational Foundation, serving as FEF secretary from 1963-86.
