NEWSCAST MAUS S.r.l., Campodarsego,


Italy, and Palmer Manufacturing & Supply Inc., Springfield, Ohio, announced a North American manufacturing and sales joint ven- ture. Te joint venture will oper- ate under the name Palmer Maus North America (PMNA) and will be based in Springfield, Ohio. Maus will be the majority owner of the joint venture. PMNA will be responsible for manufacturing, sales, service and customer support of Maus automatic grinding and vertical turning equipment lines in North America.


Bear Valley Precision Cast-


ings, Parowan, Utah, held a rib- bon cutting in March in Southern Utah. Bear Valley Castings will


specialize in building parts for firearms, such as the barrels to handguns, with plans to diversify its offerings in the future.


Can-Eng Furnaces Internation-


al has opened a second engineering office in Burlington, Ontario, Can- ada. Te site will focus primarily on complex automation and electrical control solutions for industrial fur- nace projects with future expansion for mechanical project engineering. Te office has an initial capacity for 20 engineers.

introduced its new corporate identity, include a redesigned logo and mission. Te new logo features a warm red sphere, inspired by an


induction coil followed by the com- pany’s name in bold letters.


Metaldyne Performance Group


Inc. (MPG), Plymouth, Mich., a provider of components for use in powertrain and safety-critical platforms for the light, commercial and industrial vehicle markets, is seeking to reprice the term loans outstanding under its existing senior secured credit facility. In ad- dition, MPG is seeking to raise up to $274 million to repay a portion of its existing term loans.


Clinkenbeard, Rockford, Ill.,


was recently selected “Quality Plant of the Year” by Quality Magazine, an annual award that recognizes reduced scrap, rework, warranty and manufacturing costs; improved productivity or cycle time; increased capacity; and/or improved adher- ence to quality standards. Clinken- beard was featured on the cover of the March’s Quality Magazine and will speak at the publication’s Qual- ity Show later this year.


Abu Dhabi Ports, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has reached an agreement with Advanced Manu- facturing Solutions, Candler, N.C., to build a steel metalcasting facility to produce automotive parts, includ- ing brake discs and brake calipers. Te new facility will be developed in three phases with an expected annual capacity of 300,000 metric tons.
