Three Generations. One Convention.

I

f you ask Susan Eaton and her three daughters about how they got involved with the Auxiliary, the

answer is simple. Family. Eaton’s mother, Mary Vos, was a member of Junction City Auxiliary 128 in Rochester, Pennsylvania for 63 years

before passing away in April of 2015. She joined on the eligibility of her husband, World War II veteran Gracen Hostetter. Eaton is also a member of Auxiliary 128, and so are her three daughters – Laraine Aeschbacher, Jodean Tucker and Billi Aeschbacher. All of Vos’ 10 grandchildren are connected to the Auxiliary and Post because of her. Every time one of her granddaughters turned 21, she got them an Auxiliary membership, and every Christmas thereafter, Vos renewed their memberships with the organization. So in honor of their mom and

grandmother, Eaton and her daughters attended their first-ever National Convention in Pittsburgh together. “I was the proudest mom there,” she said. “I was pretty tickled we could be there together, and I think with grandma passing away, they’re realizing how important it is to be even more involved.”
