We reveal the brands which are the top achievers from the past seven years of our poll

THE ALL-TIME LEAGUES

A

chieving listings at the world’s best bars is no easy task. Becoming one of their top-

selling brands is even harder. But what if a brand manages to dominate sales in these elite bars over a period of years? Well, that has to be recognised. We have compiled tables that reveal which brands have done exactly that. The all-time title is admittedly

a bit of a stretch, but certainly these are the brands that have dominated over the seven years we have been polling elite bars. Absolut (see tables on next

page) has only been a top seller in our poll once, but has been among the top three vodkas every year. Its strength as a brand is in its two- faces – when the bar market wanted premium it had its classic model, when it wanted super-premium, it had Elyx.

Grey Goose only plays at the augmented end of vodka and also performed well in the early years, earning enough points to maintain second spot. In third, Ketel One is on the chase. It has dominated for the past four years and will likely, over time, reach the summit of this list of vodka greats.

Over the past seven years, it’s hard to separate the three top gins: Beefeater, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire. In 2010 and 2011, Bombay

Absolut has only been

a top seller in our poll once, but has been among the top three vodkas every year
