EPIC Workshop on Optical Fiber Sensors for Structural Health Monitoring

20−21 October 2016 | Lannion, France Hosted by iXBlue Specialty Fiber Facility

 STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING

refers to the real-time knowledge of in-service structures integrity. It is critical for many manufacturers and for end- users of materials and structures used every day in many sectors of the economy (civil engineering, aerospace, marine, oil and gas, railway…).

Structural Health Monitoring is still mostly implemented when security is at stake like for planes, bridges and dams. There is still a lot to do for making this technology more widely adopted as it is also a very efficient way to optimize the maintenance program of large equipment. In addition, enhanced safety and improved production yields are all-im- portant for land and subsea oil and gas operations. With recent enhancements in performance and reliability for harsh environments, including high temperature, high pressure, hydrogen rich environments, optical fiber sensors are well- matched with the needs of distributed sensing in the oil and gas industry.

“EPIC workshops are very useful because the content is high‐quality and the broad range of attendees covers the complete spectrum of researchers, technology experts and field specialists. The workshops are an excellent opportunity to scout new

applications that are relevant in the development of our product and technology roadmap.” Dr. Ronald Dekker, CTO, XiO Photonics be part of it! www.epic-assoc.com/epic.events
