PRODUCT UPDATE LEDs and illumination Lightningcure LC-L5G

Hamamatsu Photonics has developed a high-output UV LED light source that offers around seven times the intensity of previous models, for use in applications such as bonding, printing, labelling and more.

The new Lightningcure LC-L5G provides the same level of output as metal halide lamps, while delivering many other key benefits. The key advantages of using UV LEDs includes instantaneous on/off switching, which significantly improves efficiency and subsequently extends the lamp’s lifetime (20,000+ hrs). The unit is compact and has an easy to maintain window, which allows for much easier integration into systems. The LC-L5G range has low heat emission and emits no volatile organic compounds, allowing for a greener light source, capable of curing on many heat-sensitive substrates. Other sources in the Lightningcure range are also available for various printing formats (such as inkjet, flexo and so on). www.hamamatsu.co.uk

Electronics Model 766

Analog Modules has released its Short Pulse Seed Laser Diode Driver, Model 766. The product offers user-adjustable pulse width capability as low as 150ps and as high as 1ns, for driving 14-pin butterfly packaged laser diode modules at output currents up to 1.1A. Applications include seeding fibre lasers for materials processing, time-resolved spectroscopy,

Photline DR-PL- 10-MO driver

Laser Components offers the Photline range of RF drivers, available in a range of speeds and types according to

the input signal. The range includes a driver specifically designed for generating pulses. The operating range of the Photline DR-PL- 10-MO driver has been extended to include low and high Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF)

lidar and others. The driver circuitry operates from a single 5V power source. All other needed voltages are generated by high efficiency switching power supplies. The driver supplies a bidirectional proportional- integral-derivative (PID)

thermoelectric cooler controller (TEC)

with a current capability of 3A and a voltage capability of 4.2V.

signals from 10Hz to gigahertz. The bandwidth up to 10GHz accommodates 100ps narrow pulse width with short rise and fall time (down to 25ps) and can withstand longer pulses up to 100ns.

The Photline DR-PL-10-MO drivers come in compact connected modules that match directly with Photline modulators; they use a single voltage power supply for ease and safety of use and feature an output voltage control for maximum flexibility. An optional heat sink is available as an accessory. www.lasercomponents.co.uk
