Cable Enterprise at A&P Group Tees
“Looking across our business, you can see how these different specialisms and services complement each other and are at play simultaneously. A&P Group is leading the renewables debate and works with major operators, Siemens, A2Sea, MPI and Seajacks. The team has honed its expertise in wind farm installation vessels and jack up rigs and is also involved with some innovative test projects in the field of wave energy.
“The group is a long‐standing provider of a number of defence services which include managing a cluster contract for four frontline RFA vessels and deploying specialist engineers to vessels ‘in theatre’ around the world. We have completed blocks for the new Astute Class Submarine and are preparing for the arrival and subsequent fit‐out of the new MARS tankers from early next year. We’ve also taken our experience to the marine sector, working with chemical tankers, car carriers, dredgers and offshore vessels and provide services to UK ferry operators too.
“Forward‐looking ship yards must turn their attention to how they can use their skills and assets to create new opportunities. For us, we chose not to limit our fabrication and engineering expertise to

traditional vessels, but to recognize newer sectors and take the expertise and insight developed over decades to them.
“Perhaps it is commercial imperative that is pushing businesses to diversify, or it’s the acceptance that agility is vital in the search for both stability and growth. Whatever the motivation ‐ capitalising on key strengths is a clear requisite for the future of marine serv‐ ices organisations.”
A&P Group operates seven dry docks across three strategic locations in the UK and has a sister business in Australia (Atlantic & Peninsula Marine Services Ltd) that provides ship repair services and support to the Royal Australian Navy. All facilities combine a rich heritage of marine engineering skills and experience, providing ship owners and energy companies with all the precision skills needed to complete the most demanding projects.
