START A NEW CHAPTER THANKS TO TAYLOR WIMPEY DONATION!
Children at Ysgol y Strade school in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, are enjoying reading some fantastic new books following a generous donation by Taylor Wimpey South Wales. Te leading local housebuilder, which is currently building high-quality new homes at its sought-aſter Parc y Strade development on the western fringes of the town, donated to the school to fund new books for the school library. It was all part of World Book Day, a national event which aims to encourage young children to enjoy reading, and which this
year celebrated its 20th
birthday. Ysgol y Strade is a Welsh-speaking secondary school that currently has more than 1,050 pupils, including a sixth form for students studying their A-Levels. Rachel Davies, Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator and member of the Senior Leadership Team at the school, says: “Tis donation has made a big difference as we have used the money to purchase new books and encourage

and to get more children reading. so we really appreciate Taylor Wimpey for recognising the need to update our library and the materials on offer there, so I would like to say a big thank you to them on behalf of the school.” Te 20th annual World Book Day took place on Tursday 2nd March to celebrate authors, illustrators and books,
as well as being great fun, so we were delighted to make this donation.
