Final homes taking shape at Swansea development

Work at one of Swansea’s largest new homes developments is almost complete as the final homes at Copper Quarter take shape. The Barratt Homes development of 599 homes was launched 10 years ago with rugby star Gavin Henson on hand to greet the first people to reserve a home at the development. The five star housebuilder is due to complete the final homes this summer and Barratt Homes managing director Steve Williams said the development has provided vital new homes for a wide range of buyers in Swansea.

“Copper Quarter has been our largest development to date in South Wales and we are thrilled that

the original plans have

now become a thriving new community,’’ he said.

“The mix of homes included the region’s very first Ipad apartments which have given first time buyers the perfect step onto the housing ladder and the houses we have built have ensured that Copper Quarter provides the perfect mix for families, couples and people looking to downsize to a brand new home in Swansea.” The site was a former copper works and a wealth of artefacts were uncovered by archaeologists before work started on the new homes. At the launch in December 2016 all of the homes released were snapped up within hours and Steve said the development has continued to prove popular with buyers.

“Completion of Copper Quarter later this year will mark the end of an era for us in Swansea and we have enjoyed creating this new development.”
