Llanmoor Homes investing in the future by training young talent

Training staff to deliver exceptional customer service is a top priority for award-winning Welsh housebuilder Llanmoor Homes, which is why they are delighted to announce the appointment of their new Trainee Sales Negotiator, Lily Wakeford. Like many young adults who finish school Lily, 21, didn’t want to rush into further education so decided to stay at home and gain some life experience while she thought about what to choose for her future career path. “I’ve always had a passion for art and design and a keen interest in modern living spaces, so I began to consider a career in new home sales” said Lily. “When I was made aware of the job opportunity with Llanmoor Homes I was thrilled to bits. Having lived in South Wales my entire life I knew the company was a well-respected local housebuilder, and as a local girl, the fact that the company is family-run really appealed to me.” Since starting with Llanmoor, Lily has benefited from one-to-one mentoring with experienced Sales Negotiators and has worked at a number of

developments, gaining a broad perspective on all the different home designs and processes that take place. Lily continued: “Te property sector interested me because I think witnessing homes develop from an empty space to the finished article is extremely exciting. Te creation of new developments and local communities plays an important role in shaping the future for generations to come, so getting to play a part in the expansion of the Welsh housing industry is something I’m really enjoying.” “I’ve gained a fantastic insight into how the whole process works - from the initial meeting with the customer, right through to the handing over of the property. Many of the skills I’ve acquired since joining Llanmoor are things I couldn’t have learned without being given the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in a real working environment. ” As a trainee with Llanmoor, Lily will gradually take on more responsibility and eventually work on her own allocated site, a move that the company see as positive step towards maintaining outstanding customer care.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Llanmoor for providing me with the best possible start to my career and I’m very excited to see what my future with them will bring. I really enjoy the camaraderie that I have gained with my colleagues and the team ethos that exists at Llanmoor; it’s lovely to be a part of such a successful, happy and vibrant company.” Sue Farnham, Sales Negotiator at Llanmoor’s Gerddi Pentref development, says: “Lily joined me at Gerddi Pentref during a very busy period and has been an absolute delight to work with. She soaked up every bit of information she could and quickly applied what she had learnt when put into contact with purchasers. “I think it’s incredibly important for local companies to provide young people with opportunities such as this as a means of investing in the future. Young adults nowadays are incredibly enthusiastic and offer a fresh new perspective on things; just as they can learn from our expertise, we can learn from them. Lily is already a wonderful asset to our team and we’re all really excited to see her career progress with us here at Llanmoor.”
