Working alongside the Carbon Trust, S&G replaced all lighting in the factory to T5 programmable lighting at a cost of £46k.


We are in dialogue with the local borough to purchase adjacent land to the factory with a view to erecting a wind turbine in an attempt to be more self-sufficient.


Another step in reducing the emissions from the Company was the introduction of the Government backed “Cycle to Work” Scheme. We encouraged staff to think of the environment when travelling to work and offered them an alternative of purchasing a bicycle instead. This proved to be a successful initiative with over twenty employees joining the scheme.


Our delivery vehicles and company cars contain stop/start systems. These help to reduce the amount of time the engines spend idling, thereby improving fuel economy and reducing emissions.
