Dubai Parks and Resorts

parks will now open in three phases Originally all three theme parks – Legoland, Motiongate and Bollywood Parks Dubai – were due to open together on October 31 at Dubai Parks and Resorts (DP&R), but now just one will open at the end of this month, to be followed by the rest before the end of the year. Still it's an impressive onslaught of new attractions in a part of the world fast becoming a theme park hot spot. Legoland Dubai's debut later this month will be accompanied by the opening Riverland, DP&R's dining and entertainment district. On November 15, Bollywood Parks Dubai and Legoland Water Park will open together with the Polynesian-themed Lapita Hotel then, on December 16, the movie park Motiongate will open, completing phase I of Dubai Parks and Resorts. Phase II, opening in 2019, will include a Six Flags branded amusement park. Riverland Dubai will connect the three theme parks and waterpark at Dubai Parks and Resorts, and will be open to everyone with or without a ticket to the adjoining parks. Split into four themed areas – The French Village, Boardwalk, India Gate and The Peninsula – it will feature more than 50 restaurants and shops, coupled with street theatre, entertainment and boat rides. Several more suppliers of attractions to the various DP&R parks have recently gone public with their projects. Holovis Attractions, for example, has revealed that it has supplied an immersive tunnel to Bollywood Parks Dubai. Delivered on a turnkey basis, the attraction is based on the hit film Don. Scenes from this Bollywood blockbuster have been recreated to give visitors the ride of their life as they embark on a virtual chase through the streets of Dubai while trying to keep up with the elusive mafia boss, Don. Also at Bollywood Parks, Triotech has installed a dark ride system as part of an attraction dedicated to the movie Sholay. Simworx is another confirmed supplier of multimedia attractions to DP&R venues.
