Comtrade: 2016/17 W

Aleš Gornjec, Comtrade’s General Manager waves goodbye to a strong 2016 and looks ahead to the next 12 months.

hether we review financial, organisational or technological improvements, 2016 proved to be another year in which we exceeded

forecasts and outperformed expectations. Our new licences with iCore validated that the operator can have it all (CRM, business value and open design), sCore repeatedly proved to be monumental for regulators and operators and gCore is now, as always, the foundation for the returning customer. Business may be cyclical, but, for us, progress is always linear. One factor that remained

consistent throughout this year’s business ventures is that the global market developed along our strengths. The industry continued to emphasise unifying land-based and online channels, player and operator customisation capabilities and the power of regulation to drive gaming forward. Numerous new licenses and contract wins proved to be synonymous with our expertise in land-based systems and online platforms. This year, we provided new market entrants with the technology to improve their national gaming infrastructure and the tools to gain international awareness. As we negotiate on new global entry points, Comtrade Gaming continues to anticipate regulator, operator and vendor needs and we adjust our participation along their priorities. Our enterprise gaming platform (iCore), gaming management system (sCore) and remote game server (gCore) all reinforce the fact that the modern casino is no longer physical, but experiential. With a particular focus on server-based gaming (SGB) systems, changing regulations placed our sCore system in the forefront of the Australian and Italian markets. Continued improvements on SGB capabilities on AWP and VLT machines served as another emphasis is our product investments. We simultaneously refined our

HTML5 gCore game development framework to include advanced animations and multi-device support and migrated games and products from Flash to HTML5 to support industry preferences. This year also brought considerable success to our online gaming platform, iCore. Structured modifications ensure that we have the best central bonusing and full support for sports betting. Last but not least, we went even further with our player analytic capabilities to create multi-

partners and a chance to explore our own limits. With this, we want to show that our emphasis on technological superiority is engrained in all facets of the business. From our talent management strategy to product capabilities and internal resources, we finally defined the Comtrade Gaming experience: Good design is obvious, but great functionality is transparent. We enthusiastically invested resources in

internal improvements including purchasing a new office in Maribor, Slovenia that serves as a business extension to the main office in Ljubljana. With additional resources, we are even more encouraged to accelerate our research and development in software engineering and business prospecting. An additional opportunity to which we energised our workforce this year is tied directly to our Comtrade Summer School program. We recognised that by investing in the future we enrich the market, our products and Slovenia. By leveraging the region’s technology-focused talent pool, we can exceed the requirements demanded by the growing interest in our products

dimensional profiles to track preferences, financials and statistics. As new markets prepare for national strategies, Comtrade Gaming will continue to adjust its products along their guidelines. With each license, we continued to prove

that you must keep your competitors close, but players closer. Entering new business partnerships and building upon those that already exist is a catalyst for enriching social, manufacturing and financial capital. These new dimension of know-how is proof that progress is in development. Investments in research and development opened additional marketing avenues, as seen in our work with providing national lotteries with online channels. Examples of innovation- based opportunity provide solutions to

and optimally serve current and future partners.

Comtrade Gaming anticipates 2017 to be

highly focused on managing customer prospects, refining our products and continued investments into strengthening the brand. We expect operators to optimise their digital experience and gain deeper understanding in the ways in which players drive business value. Comtrade Gaming is looking to work intensely with regulators and operators in regards to national priority points and with vendors to curate the modern gaming experience. Most of all, we look forward to a dynamic market and the projects that will provide welcomed challenges to shaping the gaming industry for continued success.
