MONTEVIDEO aceptó canon variable para hotel Casino Carrasco
Ya son legendarios los problemas que tiene el Hotel Casino
Carrasco, operado por la empresa Carrasco Nóbile, del Grupo Codere, para pagar los altos impuestos acordados con la Intendencia de Montevideo, fijados en un canon de unos USD500 mil mensuales.
El acuerdo entre la IM y el casino pasa de ser un canon fijo a
uno variable, similar al modelo que tiene el Hotel Conrad de Punta del Este, propiedad del grupo chileno, Enjoy S.A., que paga según un porcentaje de la recaudación del juego y del hotel.
Con el acuerdo, la Intendencia recibirá menos dinero, pero se
asegura la continuidad de los ingresos, y sin el alto canon fijo, Codere podrá realizar nuevas inversiones calculadas en unos cuatro millones, para mejorar su oferta de juegos y atraer jugadores de casino de alto poder adquisitivo.
SUN International programa ampliar expansión en Perú
Después de fusionarse con la empresa chilena Dreams, Sun
International ha anunciado una expansión en sus propiedades de juegos de azar en Peru, confirmada con un reporte de Reuter, luego de la entrevista a Graeme Stephens, CEO, quien dejará su puesto de presidente ejecutivo en abril 2017: “Los planes están avanzados para expandirnos en la región. Tenemos planes para crecer en Perú y más adelante Brasil podría abrirse a dar licencias a casinos,” dijo Stephens.
Sun International redobló su presencia en América Latina con la unión en Chile con Dreams SA en junio pasado y posee un 55 por ciento de la empresa fusionada. Aun cuando no hubo detalles sobre la inversión de la empresa en Latinoamérica. Stephens, añadió que la empresa, “ha vendido activos en varios países africanos y anunció planes de abandonar Nigeria para enfocarse en sus negocios de casinos en América Latina y Sudáfrica”.

International, Sun Dreams propone ser un actor líder en la industria del juego en Latinoamérica, donde tiene activos en Chile, Colombia, Panamá y Perú, con 13 unidades que suman unas 6.500 máquinas de juegos, seis hoteles y 25 restaurantes.

SUN International plans operations expansion in Peru
After the merger of its Latin American operations with Chilean company Dreams S.A., Sun International has announced an expansion in their gaming properties in Peru, as confirmed in a report by Reuter’s following an interview with CEO Graeme Stephens, who will leave his position in April 2017: “Plans are advanced for expansion in the region,“ said Stephens. “We have plans to grow in Peru and later on in Brazil, which could open up to license casinos”.
Sun International doubled its presence in Latin America with the Dreams merger last June and owns 55 percent of the merged company. Even though there were no details on new investment of the company in Latin America, Stephens added that the company, “has sold assets in several African countries and announced plans to leave Nigeria to focus on their casino business in Latin America and South Africa.”

International, Sun Dreams aims to be a leading player in the gaming industry in Latin America, where it has assets in Chile, Colombia, Panama and Peru, with 13 units totalling some 6,500 gaming machines, 6 hotels and 25 restaurants.

As the casino has been unable to keep up payments at the
fixed rate, a sensible agreement has been reached between the parties to change the monthly tax rate from fixed rate to a variable one, similar to the rate already in place at Hotel Casino Conrad in Punta del Este, which is property of Chile’s Enjoy S.A. In this way, gaming tax will be paid on GGR and hotel revenue also.
