GameCo lands in Atlantic City

Casino International’s Sharon Harris recently attended the introduction of GameCo product to a casino floor, which took place in Atlantic City. The company’s revolutionary Videogame Gambling Machine (VGM) hopes to open the door for a discipline new to casinos: skill gaming at the slot machine.

A

lifelong love for video games and entertainment has helped GameCo CEO Blaine Graboyes create groundbreaking “firsts“ for 20 years by launching and participating in

multiplatform content, social and casual game companies His involvement in esports programs and publisher events led to Graboyes developing GameCo’s revolutionary Videogame Gambling Machine (VGM). After Graboyes brought esports productions to

casinos, he quickly recognized the limits of slot machines. Despite generating 75 percent of U.S.

gaming revenues, slots have stagnated or declined for two decades. Graboyes says, “Younger gamers have not “aged”

into slots and the “X-Chart” shows non-gaming revenues surpassing gaming revenues in many markets. Using research, ‘game nights’ and surveys confirmed our opportunity to add video games and esports to gaming floors.” After self-funding for two years, GameCo received

outside financing in September 2015. The company now fulfills all requirements, from initial concept to prototype/product to user/compliance testing and final approvals. Graboyes chose Caesars in Atlantic City

to launch “Danger Arena“ in October 2016 because it is the majority casino operator. He received immediate support and Caesars also provided compliance advice on VGM development. He says, “Choosing a ‘stringent’

regulator for our first game submission proved our team and product could meet high compliance standards. The two- hour travel time between our New York offices and the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) made sense. It was also nostalgic as I spent my childhood summers on the Boardwalk playing arcade games. I wanted to ‘come full circle’ with our first launch.“ Graboyes describes positive collaborative meetings with the DGE and other regulators and test labs such as GLI in 2014 that confirmed the concept and product. GameCo submitted a White Paper on game design and a math model. These led to weekly conference calls to review testing and regular in-person meetings. As necessary, GameCo adjusted its product.
