Parkers moves to new HQ
At its in-house conference earlier this year, Parker Building Supplies’ financial director Stewart Pierce announced that the company would be moving to a new HQ building in Polgate, Sussex, having outgrown its existing Uckfield premises. In December, the move was finally made.

The team uncovered two graves created from pits lined with stone slabs – one smaller one and another larger, adult-sized grave, which contained two pots known as beakers. “They are a specific kind of pot dating from the end of the Neolithic Age and the start of the Bronze Age, making them about 4000 years old,” said Parry. The smaller pot was damaged and has been painstakingly reconstructed by conservation staff at Cardiff University, but the larger pot was completely intact. “It was so well preserved that it could easily have been a reproduction made in the past few days rather than something that has been

Kellaway buys Premier Timber
Kellaway Building Supplies has bought Worcester based Premier Timber and Builders Merchant, giving the Bristol- headquartered NBG member its 12th merchant branch. Following the acquisition,
Premier will relocate from the current site to more suitable premises on the same Worcester trading estate, creating greater space to offer an increased range of stock and vastly improved facilities for both customers and staff. BPS opens in Cirencester
Leamington Spa-based NBG Partner Building & Plumbing Supplies (BPS) has opened a new branch in Cirencester. It brings the company’s network of general merchant branches to six, following the opening of one at Southam last year. . “We’ve been looking to open a branch in Cirencester for some time,” says managing director John Dibble. “The town fits well with our customer profile, and geographically it gives us an excellent base for tackling the Cotswolds. The town had long been crying out for a merchant that offers top service and we believe we can offer that.”
The Cirencester branch stocks a wide range of building and plumbing supplies, timber, ironmongery and landscaping supplies. Established in 1934 and still family owned and run, BPS also operates specialist ironmongery and landscaping businesses at its Leamington HQ, below.
