BMF’S CHRIS HARDING HONOURED WITH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Christine Harding, who
retired from the BMF last year, was honoured with the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Builders Merchants Awards for Excellence in November. She is the first woman ever to have won this prestigious Award.
Christine’s natural skills as a “people person” singled her out for success in an organisation
dedicated to helping its members. Her achievements during her 25 years at the BMF, latterly as Marketing & Communications Manager, are too numerous to mention.

Travis Perkins’ P&H Division joins the BMF

BMF and CIPHE to collaborate
The BMF and the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers (CIPHE) have agreed a strategic alliance that will see the two organisations collaborating in key areas. The BMF and the CIPHE
are both committed to raising quality and standards within their respective industries.
They have committed to have one voice on mutually agreed topics to government and other relevant bodies, and to add value to both memberships through guidance, training and standards.
As the professional body for the UK plumbing and heating industry, CIPHE has over 7,000 members including consultants, specifiers, designers and practitioners and some 170 manufacturers and distributors. CIPHE CEO, Kevin Wellman said: “There are a great many synergies between our two organisations. Working together, we can promote the need for professional plumbing and heating engineers to install quality products supplied by stockists who understand the process.”

Grundfos Pumps Ltd, the domestic and commercial heating circulator company and Ideal Standard, the bathroom products manufacturer have both joined the BMF, further strengthening the Federation’s dynamic Plumbing and Heating Sector Dave Lacey, Grundfos Pumps’ Director of Sales said: “We are delighted to be joining the BMF and will fully support their members with our unrivalled comprehensive heating and plumbing product ranges.
