of water-based heating and cooling systems, allowing systems to get to temperature faster, stay hotter and cooler for longer, and require signifi cantly less energy. Delta-T works by reducing the surface tension of water, allowing water within a heating or cooling system to reach a much greater surface area of heat exchangers, leading to a dramatic increase in heat transfer effi ciency. In university tests, a space heated by a copper coil got to 24°C 3.2 times faster with Delta-T. As a result, Delta-T delivers faster warming and cooling of spaces, with the potential to cut associated running costs by up to 27.
Britania House case study A three-month trial by Bradford Council found that using Delta-T
would reduce the annual energy costs of its main offi ce, a Victorian building with a 20,000 litre heating system, by 27%. This reduction in energy usage represented an annual cost saving to the council of £33,600 as well as a 31-tonne reduction in CO₂ output. Delta-T uses a patented formula developed by chemicals fi rm SafeSol following 15 years of research. Fully compatible with biocides, inhibitors, and glycols, Delta-T allows for seamless integration into existing systems without compromising their protective functions, making it suitable for residential and commercial properties, councils, and businesses seeking to enhance their sustainability and reduce costs.
Clivet showcased its latest products at Grand Designs Live ‘24, held at The NEC, Birmingham, from 2-6 October 2024. The
company focused on its Smart Living ecosystem and the Cristallo 2 wall split.
The Smart Living ecosystem includes heat pumps for heating, cooling, and domestic hot water production, air renewal and purifi cation systems, Clivet Sinergy energy storage systems, HID-T smart thermostats, and room units that are quiet with a stylish design. It also features Control4 NRG, an assistant for smart comfort and energy management.
The Cristallo 2 wall split boasts an Alto design panel with
strong and elegant lines and a purifi cation fi lter active against odours, dust, VOCs, pollen, spores, and bacteria. It also off ers smart management via smartphone with the NetHome Plus App and voice control setup with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The unit is compatible with both single and multi-split systems. Visitors had the opportunity to see how Clivet’s solutions can enhance living comfort while maintaining a focus on environmental sustainability.
