CHILLVENTA
Embraco to become a full-range solutions brand
E
mbraco showcased its refrigeration technology with a stand fi lled with recent and soon-to-be launches, consolidating its capability as a full solutions brand. It featured electronic components for full integration of the refrigeration system, along with a comprehensive range of condensing units and monoblocks. “We wanted to show that Embraco is at a new
level, off ering a complete range of solutions for all customers’ needs in the commercial and residential refrigeration segments,” said Guilherme Almeida, Nidec Global Appliance’s president. “Our 53 years of innovation have put us in a position to expand the portfolio with a forward-thinking approach, shaping trends such as the integration of components. At Chillventa, the Sync it All, our integrated portfolio, is already proving its advantages with performance case studies. This new approach to the refrigeration system and other solutions means a product mix expansion that will support our goal of doubling Embraco’s portfolio net sales in fi ve years,” he added. Alongside Embraco’s product lines expansion, Nidec Global Appliance also grew by incorporating FIR, a brand of motors and pumps for food service, professional appliances, and medical applications. Some of these were showcased at the event. One of the highlights of the stand was the recently launched Sync it All range, embodying
Air, resulting in up to 31% energy savings with the new package.
In another test, with a food retail horizontal
freezer, the most energy-effi cient fi xed-speed compressor in Embraco’s portfolio, the EMC, was replaced by an equally energy-effi cient Embraco variable-speed compressor, the FMFT, associated with the Embraco Sync controller. Even in comparison to an optimised premium effi ciency compressor such as the EMC, and under test conditions of frequent door openings, the result was a 13% saving in energy consumption. In a third case study, conducted in a multideck display fridge powered by two compressors, two fi xed-speed compressors were replaced by two variable-speed models managed by the Embraco Sync controller, resulting in 17% savings, as the Embraco Sync could make both compressors work synchronously. “This is a solution that can further reduce
energy consumption, even for systems already powered by best-in-class solutions. But as important as the energy savings is the fact that we made it easier and faster for customers to set the parameters that achieve these results,” explained Daniel Campos, head of the commercial appliances business and vice president at Nidec Global Appliance. “This new portfolio means that now customers can concentrate the buying

electronic components integration. It consisted of the Embraco Air fan, the Embraco Sync controller, and the YouControl development interface (software), all integrated with Embraco variable-speed compressors for applications in the commercial appliances segment. Embraco presented several case studies with this new portfolio. In one study, conducted with a food service upright freezer, a standard fi xed-speed compressor was replaced by a variable-speed model, the VEH, managed by the Embraco Sync controller, and a standard fan was replaced by the electronically commutated motor fan Embraco

process on one trusted partner and have electronic components that can be integrated and synchronised to enhance performance, increase energy effi ciency, simplify project development, and accelerate implementation,” he added. Embraco aimed to demonstrate that its portfolio of condensing units and monoblocks is also a form of integration, in this case of all the refrigeration system’s components. “When customers buy a complete solution like a condensing unit or a monoblock, they save the time and eff ort of buying and assembling each system’s components from diff erent suppliers,”
explained Gilmar Pirovano, commercial appliances sales director for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) at Nidec Global Appliance. Embraco highlighted its new line of monoblocks, sealed units that can be mounted on the top of the refrigeration equipment. The products were designed for large applications, like cold rooms, and can integrate up to four compressors, all highly energy-effi cient and using low GWP (global warming potential) refrigerant R290. Compressors: from smallest to the largest Among other solutions for commercial
refrigeration, visitors could check the latest model of the VNEX series, a line of R290 variable-speed compressors with a maximum displacement of up to 21 cc. This series was developed to serve large refrigeration equipment, such as reach-in commercial freezers with up to fi ve doors or vertical refrigerated display cabinets, off ering the highest cooling capacity and energy effi ciency in this product category, with a maximum cooling capacity of 1670W and an effi ciency of 1.86 W/W (tested in Ashrae LBP). Among the compressors for home appliances, the spotlight was on the most compact compressor of the portfolio, with around 2.5 kg, almost 50% lighter than the already compact previous platform (FMX). This new platform used natural refrigerant R600a and was designed to make variable-speed technology aff ordable for all types of home appliances.
