NEW

Doby Verreloc

Doby Verrolec has launched DobyGrip Max, a new solution which allows the suspension of ductwork and other MEP services where installation height is restricted. In modern buildings, the plenum which facilitates the air circulation for HVAC systems is becoming smaller, reducing the space available for the suspension of services.

Conventional wire rope suspension systems require the maximum angle of the cable to be no more than 60 degrees from leaving the cable lock, passing round the duct and returning it to the cable lock. This typically means that on a 300mm (12inch) circular duct, the minimum suspension height from the top of the duct to the cable lock is also 300mm (12inch). Subsequently, the minimum height required to install the duct is at least 600mm (24 inches).

However, DobyGrip Max allows the cable lock to be positioned tight against the top of the duct, consequently reducing the minimum height required on installation by 50%.

Malcolm Moss, managing director of Doby Verrolec said: “It can cut installation time by up to 60% when compared with traditional suspension methods.”

Fujitsu

Fujitsu Air Conditioning (UK) has extended its range of AirstageTM J-IIIL Series VRF systems with the introduction of two brand new 40kW and 45kW outdoor units.

The two new side discharge units (AJY126LELAH and AJY144LELAH) have a slim profi le with a low height, ensuring they are extremely compact. As a result, each product has a much smaller footprint than current models with the same output capacities.

Compared to Fujitsu’s existing AirstageTM V-Series 14/16HP products, the new J-IIIL units are 285mm smaller in terms of depth, meaning they take up 45% less space. They are also 23% lighter in weight. Not only do the new J-IIIL products boast a smaller footprint, their optimum heat exchanger structure allows up to 40 indoor wall mounts, mini ducts, fl oor mounts or cassettes to be connected to one external unit. This is the maximum number of indoor units possible for a system of this capacity. As a result, these new VRF systems are ideal for small room applications, including hotels and offi ce blocks. The J-IIIL models boast a 570mm propeller fan and a 15-120rps scroll compressor. www.fujitsu-general.com/uk

SMI

The Green-Door is available for both freezers and chillers, and is the latest innovation from the thermal insulation specialists at Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI).

After years of painstaking research and nearly a decade of stringent tests at sites across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, it is now opening the door to signifi cant fi nancial savings for major retailers.

Green-Door is a more lightweight and user-friendly replacement for the heavy sliding ‘night door’, with the potential to save a considerable amount of energy and physical eff ort for users.

It uses SMI’s acclaimed Tempro, which remains unchallenged as the world’s thinnest and most thermally-effi cient material of its kind. SMI chairman Brian Seymour said: “Green-Door makes the much- hated supermarket night-door redundant in chillers and freezers. It is easy to use, it saves expensive energy and carbon, it reduces maintenance costs and the need to fi t the hated time-wasting, labour-intensive, costly night-door.”

Stulz

Stulz is expanding its product portfolio with extra “ze chillers” in the CyberCool 2 series. Available in air-cooled versions, they are designed for use with eco-friendly R-1234ze refrigerant. This HFO blend has a very low GWP and, in the context of EU regulation 517/2014 and together with refrigerant shortages, is a future-proof and effi cient alternative to conventional HFC-based refrigerants. Stulz CyberCool 2 ze chillers are available in output capacities from 300-1000kW and off er effi cient cooling solutions for medium and large data centres, telecommunications and industrial applications. The ze series is equipped with the largest possible EC fans and sound-insulated compressor chambers to reduce noise. Thanks to the dynamic control technology, the CyberCool 2 also supports indirect free cooling. This intelligent way of changing over between compressor operation and indirect free cooling facilitates resource-saving operation coupled with maximum energy effi ciency.
