Engie Refrigeration Bitzer
Engie Refrigeration’s redesigned air- cooled Quantum Air series is available on the international market. All 28 model variants in the series feature a superlative refrigeration capacity,
The latest update to the Bitzer software enables the selection of performance data for even more components in its product range, providing a reliable tool for users to select suitable components for their systems. The software is only
a convenient control system, excellent serviceability and maximum efficiency.
The air-cooled Quantum Air chillers from Engie Refrigeration are high-quality and efficient. Thanks to their great energy efficiency, the greenhouse gas emissions of Quantum Air devices are so low that these machines already meet the future requirements of the Ecodesign Directive that will apply from 2021(Tier 2).
The air-cooled QUANTUM Air in version A1250 with a refrigeration capacity of 1,200kW is often used for year-round server cooling, which corresponds to around 8,760 operating hours per year. Even during this type of usage cycle, the chiller consumes 410,000 kilowatt-hours less power than specified by the future Tier 2 reference value from the Ecodesign Directive. For the operating company, this yields annual power savings of around 78,000 euros per year as well as a reduction in carbon emissions of roughly 200 tons.

Toshiba Electronics Europe’s TXZ+ family is a new range of 32-bit microcontrollers based on Arm Cortex processor cores. The TXZxA+ advanced class microcontrollers, fabricated in a 40nm
CMOS process technology. These feature either an Arm Cortex-M3 or a Cortex-M4 with FPU processor core. The second is the TXZxE+ entry class using a 130nm CMOS process and utilising an Arm Cortex-M0, Cortex-M3, or Cortex-M4 processor core.
The TXZxA+ advanced class is Toshiba’s third generation of Arm Cortex core-based microcontrollers and will provide enhanced performance with operating frequencies of up to 200 MHz (254 DMIPS) while dissipating approximately 30% lower dynamic power compared to the existing 65nm devices. It has a single-supply regulator that operates without the need for external capacitors to save costs. The TXZxE+ entry class includes microcontrollers with essential functionality to serve basic control applications. These are also Toshiba’s first microcontrollers featuring a SONOS memory. Toshiba’s new TXZ+ microcontroller family will meet the increasing demand for energy, it is also suitable for a wide variety of applications.

recently available in version 6.10.0, which enables users to select many new compressor models and refrigerants, with a key focus on Bitzer’s screw compressors. The performance data for compressors of the HS series ranging between 20 and 75 Hz is now available for all conventional refrigerants. The corresponding Varipack frequency inverter can be selected as an accessory for any compressor. New technical information also contains additional details on operating screw compressors with external frequency inverters. New CSVH3 and CSVW3 compressor models have also been incorporated into the software, and Bitzer has added new refrigerants for the CSH.6 series. A further screw compressor has been integrated in the form of the CSW10593-400Y.

Vertiv
Carrier
Vertiv has a series of measures designed to meet increasing demand for innovative and efficient thermal management technologies and services. This includes Vertiv Liebert OFC, a range of oil-free
turbocor compressor chillers launched in partnership with Geoclima. The partnership with Geoclima enables Vertiv to build on existing chiller technology. The Liebert OFC design has been optimised to utilise low GWP refrigerants and to provide high energy efficiency. The Liebert OFC range will include water-cooled models from 300kW to 1600kW and air-cooled models from 300kW to 1700kW. Existing and new customers can test Vertiv’s complete portfolio of thermal management products under real field conditions at the Customer Experience Centre in Tognana, Italy. As part of Vertiv’s innovation roadmap, the company recently redesigned the entire floor-mount air conditioning range, including the direct expansion Vertiv Liebert PDX with variable speed compressors and the chilled water range with the newly redesigned Vertiv Liebert PCW. Vertiv will be demonstrating new technologies using an augmented reality experience at Data Center World in London.

Carrier has introduced an important upgrade to its AquaSnap 30RBMP- 30RQMP chiller range with the addition of built-in connectivity for fixed refrigerant leak monitoring and the addition of Carrier’s flagship Touch Pilot
control system. This makes the chiller even easier for end users and maintenance contractors to operate and reduces maintenance costs by automating checks required under F-Gas regulations. A compatible fixed refrigerant leak detection system can now be connected directly to the chiller, linking this monitoring function with the chiller’s control system to speed up customer or contractor notification in the unlikely event of refrigerant loss and enable more timely corrective action to be taken. Carrier can supply and fit compatible refrigerant leak detectors, including all wiring connections between the sensors and the chiller control panel. Use of a fixed refrigerant leak detection system reduces the number of mandatory site visits required for testing the chiller under F-Gas regulations by half.
Wolseley
Wolseley has added YORK chillers, heat pumps and rooftop packages to their existing HVAC portfolio.
Formerly known as Climate Center,
Wolseley supplies an extensive range of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, components, spares, accessories and tools to professional installers.
The upgrade also includes replacement of Carrier’s Prodialog+ control system with the Touch Pilot system that makes available the latest control functions via a colour touch-sensitive screen, accessible via the internet on PC, tablet or smart phone. The new control system offers alarm notification by email and SMS alert for rapid response and facilitates easy connection to building management systems. Performance data stored within the unit’s onboard memory can be analysed via a user-friendly graphical display, which shows trend data over time at the touch of a button.
