New SGD 8-inch Letterbox format TFT from RDS


A compact 8 inch, 1600x480 letterbox TFT display with features which include; IPS, 85 degree viewing angles and no colour inversion is now available from RDS.


At 500 cd/m2 it’s ideal for automotive, switchpanels and digital signage.


This new SGD display is ideal for automotive smart- rear-view mirrors. These devices are letterbox format screens that can display not only a simple rear-view but also other information such as tyre pressures, SAT-NAV and communications status.


This letterbox display is a transmissive type, colour active matrix TFT (Thin Film Transistor) liquid crystal display (LCD) that uses amorphous silicon TFT as a switching device. It’s overall size of 208mm (w) x 73mm (h) and its 5.4mm depth makes it ideal where space is limited. The panel operates from a 2.8-3.5V supply, displaying 16.7 Million colours (8 bit).

Increased fire safety requirements for fuseholders


Impacts of the change in the IEC/EN 60127-6 standard


The fuseholder standard IEC/EN 60127-6 has been revised to improve fire safety. Effective in October 2017, manufacturers of fuseholders will only be permitted to market products that have been tested and authorized in accordance with the updated standard. SCHURTER will offer its customers upgraded solutions by the deadline.


Beginning no later than October 2017, SCHURTER guarantees that it will supply only products that have been approved according to the latest fuseholder standard. For an over-view of the affected products we have made a website available that will


provide information about the status of the complilance with the new standard. This will also contain further important information about the fuseholders and the referenced standards.
