New high temperature ceramic MLCs are a ‘HiT’ with demanding applications

tandard MLCC products may not be suitable for use above the upper rated temperature of 125ºC where
component reliability could be detrimentally affected due to thermal stresses. With the demand for MLC capacitors with stable electrical performance at higher temperatures substantially increasing, Knowles Capacitors has developed a number of high temperature solutions. The Knowles HiT range of MLCCs has an operating temperature range of -55 to +200ºC and are suitable for a variety of high temperature applications and offers a tin over nickel termination – not previously available.
Application in oil exploration (downhole), geothermal, military, automotive under-hood and avionics will
find the wide capacitance range of 4.7pF to 3.3uF, over the rated voltage spread of 16 to 630V dc, of particular interest. Stable and ultra-stable dielectric options, C0G & X7R materials, are both RoHS compliant and lead free. They are available in 0805 to 2220 chip sizes.
This range is manufactured to exacting
standards using Knowles unique screen printing process to provide a high quality component suitable for demanding and hostile applications.
