Hammond enclosures delivered modified to customer specifications W

hen a standard enclosure doesn’t meet the requirements of a new design, specialist distributor JPR Electronics can provide bespoke modified enclosure solutions from Hammond Manufacturing. Hammond can modify a wide range of their enclosures to meet customer’s exact requirements providing a cost effective, from-the- factory quality solution. JPR can provide customers with technical and design support to ensure the best-fit enclosure is provided. Custom manufacturing is carried out in Hammond’s own factories in Europe and finished enclosures are sprayed with ultra-durable powder paint which can be color matched to customer specifications ensuring a factory quality paint finish every time. Typical customer modifications include special paint colors, silk

screening, non-standard sizes, alternative material construction, cutouts, tapped holes and pre-installed accessories. Paul Raynor, director of JPR Electronics, comments: “Hammond Manufacturing has been operating for over one-hundred years and has an excellent reputation for high quality products and great customer service. Their bespoke enclosure service offers our customers the twin benefits of quality and cost.”

CamdenBoss launches active DIN Rail enclosures

C

amdenBoss, provider of performance engineered interconnection and

enclosures, has launched an innovative range of DIN Rail enclosures enabling quick and easy contact with a powered “active” track within the DIN Rail. Multiple enclosures from the company’s CNMB, CDIB and CVB-Plus ranges can be used in conjunction with the new active power track, connecting via specially developed 5mm pitch terminal blocks. Terminal blocks are available for both horizontal or vertical mounting PCB options within the standard CamdenBoss DIN Rail enclosures. Active tracks feature five bus lines manufactured from tin and nickel plated copper within a black PVC extrusion. Each power line is rated up to 63V at 5A. Five lines allows the customer to use power or data bus bars as their system requires. This allows implementation of many protocols including RS232, RS485, 12C etc. The active DIN system allows enclosures to be removed and refitted quickly and easily without affecting other units on the rail. Exposed parts of the active power track can be protected using plastic covers that are easily cut to length with scissors or craft knife. End caps provide further protection and a neat aesthetic finish.

New concealed wall mounting for OKW SYNERGY enclosures

O

KW’s award-winning SYNERGY enclosures can now be wall mounted using a new concealed

suspension element.

This new suspension element is compatible with the circular R120 (ø 120 mm) and 140 (ø 140 mm) variants of SYNERGY. Its hidden fixings are even more discrete than SYNERGY’s existing wall suspension element (which can be installed with only one screw).

The new wall suspension element’s adapter (45 x 58 mm) is attached to the housing using customised double-sided foil on a foam rubber carrier. This adapter fits into a housing which is either screwed to the wall or attached using adhesive foils (available as an accessory). A clever locking pin system provides removal protection. Each kit is supplied with an adapter, two adhesive foils, one holder and two locking pins. All the plastic components are moulded from ASA+PC-FR for added strength and UV stability. The standard colour is black (RAL 9005).

These anodised aluminium enclosures

are finished to a meticulous standard and are available in four shapes (square, rectangular, circular and oval) and 36 plan sizes ranging from ø 100 mm and 100 x 100 mm to 200 x 100 mm. Enclosures can be specified with or without battery compartments for 1.5V AA cells. All the fixings are concealed thanks to SYNERGY’s smart fast-connect construction system. Four internal

assembly pillars hold each enclosure together. They snap into the recessed top panel, locate the assembly extrusion and are fixed to the bottom part with four stainless steel Torx T10 anti-tamper screws. Prices for SYNERGY start at £22 for the R120 model. Accessories include the wall suspension elements (the new one costs £6) plus polarity reversal protection devices, battery clips, button cell holders, battery compartments, an extender kit for the PCB pillars, self-tapping screws (PZ1 2.5 x 6 mm) and a Torx T10 screwdriver. OKW can supply SYNERGY fully customised ready for the installation of PCBs. Services include CNC machining, lacquering, printing of legends and logos, EMC shielding, plastic and aluminium panels, membrane keypads, display windows and assembly.
