ulti-channel retail technology specialist One iota is celebrating a second successful Hackathon event in which its entire team worked on a range of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the retail experience. The team from the Lancashire-based company, which produces online


and in-store technology solutions for the likes of JD Sports and Superdry, was granted creative license to collaborate intensively, with the goal of creating new product prototypes in just 48 hours. In the run up to the Hackathon, staff submitted proposals for projects and


then had just two days to experiment and produce their prototypes, some of which would usually take several months to develop around other work. One iota technical director Ross McFarlane explained: “The Hackathon is


a highlight of the One iota calendar and creates a huge buzz within the team. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to develop their existing skills, and many projects involve experimenting with new tools and technologies. “Free from any constraints or restrictions, the team put their energy into
