2016 SIR Foundation Gala celebrates the possibilities of IR
S In gratitude
SIR Foundation is grateful to the hundreds of people who supported the success of the 2016 Gala through attendance, silent auction item donations and participation, and through donations during the event. Please see
sirfoundation.org/gala for highlights of the event.
IR members, friends and supporters turned out for SIR Foundation’s sixth annual Gala, held on the evening
of April 3 at Vancouver’s legendary Commodore Ballroom.
Attendees enjoyed a Roaring ’20s evening and time with friends and colleagues, and celebrated Gordon McLennan, MD, FSIR, this year’s Philanthropist of the Year—all while supporting the foundation’s initiatives. SIR Foundation thanks attendees for their tremendous support of the event, which led to a record-breaking $460,000
in philanthropic giving to support IR research. Highlights of the night included the highest ever “paddle raise,” during which one very generous donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, gave a $100,000 donation.
Proceeds from the event will support the foundation’s research initiatives and its mission to foster research and development in IR. SIR Foundation thanks SIR members, industry friends, and the 17 physician-group supporters for their generosity, which made this year’s event such a success.
