Cornish cream: join the BMC International Meet
C
onnect with international friends, climb with like-minded people, and go crazy over the Cornish
granite. This year’s BMC International Meet (13-20 May) is gearing up to be one of the best yet. Around 30 climbers from all over the globe will descend on the Count House in Cornwall, a 200-year-old building perched above one of Cornwall’s finest granite cliffs, Bosigran. Each international guest will be teamed up with an experienced UK climber and introduced to the delights of Cornish sea cliff climbing.

BMC T-shirts are expanding and shrinking at the same time! We haven’t got a quality issue, it’s just that our popular t-shirt designs have so far only been available in adult sizes, so now we’re introducing a new range of designs in children’s sizes.
The designs, by climber and award- winning artist Tessa Lyons, feature some of the world’s best climbers from the animal kingdom, and first up is the wonderfully smooth (though not so speedy) Sloth.

I MEND OUR MOUNTAINS 2
t was amazing and inspiring to see the response from our members and the wider public to BMC’s first Mend Our Mountains crowdfunding campaign. So rather than let it end there, we decided to keep the momentum going and aim
big. That’s how the idea for the Mend Our Mountains: Make One Million Appeal was born. The aim is similar to last year’s: to raise money for projects to combat erosion and restore upland ecology in iconic landscapes in the UK. More details soon.

Climbing Festival A festival to celebrate all things climbing. We’ll be kicking off the extended weekend of climbing with the BMC South Wales Area meet on Friday night, a chance to go to a Range East briefing on Saturday morning, an open air talk (weather permitting!) on Saturday evening and lots of other activities in-between!

the BMC first-aid weekend Hathersage, Peak District
Get prepped for all altitude accidents. Suitable for punters and pros alike, holders of the Diploma of Mountain Medicine will be delivering this weekend of mountain first aid again in 2017. Day one will cover UK crag and mountain first aid; day two will tackle high altitude medicine. CPD points available.
