COME Want to have your say in how the BMC is run? Or get updated on our plans for the future? Join us in the heart of beautiful Snowdonia for the BMC’s annual gathering. It’s the crucial friendly, social event for outdoor enthusiasts who are members of the BMC.


THE AGM


The AGM starts at 11:00 on Saturday 22 April. If you are unable to attend in person, you can still make your vote count by completing the proxy voting card in this issue of Summit.


THE AFTERNOON After we’re done with business, head off to enjoy the mountains or book onto one of the complimentary guided walks or skills sessions for members attending the AGM, with thanks to the Mountain Training Association (MTA) and the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) for providing them. THE EVENING We’re pleased to be able to offer a three-course evening meal to BMC members on Saturday night, entirely for free. This will be followed by celebrating our fantastic volunteers with the presentation of the BMC George Band Award for Exceptional Voluntary Contribution to Mountaineering. The after- dinner speaker will be John Barry: a notorious raconteur and mountaineer with a colourful past.


ACCOMMODATION All accommodation at PyB includes their hearty breakfast


Twin en-suite rooms (main house) are available for £36.00 per person per night based on 2 people sharing; bedding and towels are provided. Bunk beds with shared bathroom facilities are available for £24.00 per person per night; please bring your own sleeping bag, towel, and toiletries.


THE WEEKEND Friday 21 April


18:00 Head to the Plas y Brenin bar to relax and unwind after a busy week. The bar opens at 6.00 pm and will serve bar meals between 18:00 and 20:45.


21:00 Showing of BMC TV tribute to Ken Wilson “Hard Rock” with a toast to Ken, followed by slideshow and talk from BMC ambassador James McHaffie, and a selection of other BMC TV films.


Saturday 22 April


09:30 Question Time with the BMC directors, staff and volunteers.


11:00 AGM: register 09:00-10:45 to ensure you can vote.


13:00 AMI, MTA organised guided walks and skills sessions. Free to AGM attendees.


19:00 Three-course evening meal, followed by the George Band Award presentation


The Mountain Heritage Trust will be on hand to answer your heritage related queries, take suggestions for the future of mountain heritage, and provide an update on their relocation.


Sunday 23 April


10:00 Check out of rooms. Head off for your own walking and climbing adventures in Snowdonia, fortified by the legendary Plas y Brenin breakfast.
