Dalriada Festival ‘bigger and better’

ET READY for fun with the family in July on the 13th and 14th as Northern Ireland off ers up the family festival weekend the Dalriada Festival 2019.


Supported by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council and in association with Tower Centre, located at the historic Glenarm Castle this year’s programme promises not to disappoint. With live music, fi ne food and drink and a wide range of activities for kids – this is one family festival you wont want to miss out on.


Here’s a guide to the top fi ve ‘must sees’, which will ensure you have the best Dalraida Festival experience:


1. Check Out the Music Line-up: Over the two days you can watch performers, featuring nostalgic 90s and present day acts, including: Peter Andre, Fleur East, Samantha Harvey, Atomic Kitten, D:Ream, there will also be a mix of local singers and bands.


2. A Festival Crafted with the Family in Mind: They were a big hit in 2016 and they are back again for this year, kids will love Paw Patrol with kids TV stars Chase & Marshall, Sam & Mark from CBBC’s Big Friday Wind Up and Tractor Ted will bring a real life farm courtesy of the Offi cial Tractor Ted team.


3. Amazing Food: ‘Celtic Smoke’ International BBQ competition sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society. Also look out for an array of local producers and vendors including the street food market, chef demonstrations, pop-up restaurant and a family dining area. 4. Stay the Whole Weekend: Why not pack up the family camping kit, caravan or campervan and pitch up at the festival camp site. For something more luxurious, there is also 5* Glamping available. Wake up in the beautiful surroundings of the Glenarm Estate and step right into the festival atmosphere. 5. Check Out the Historic Surroundings of Glenarm Estate and Castle: The Dalriada Festival has been held at the grounds of Glenarm Estate since 2011. Festival goers will have access to the Castle, home to the current Lord and Lady Dunluce and their family, for scheduled tours; the wonderful tearooms where all food is created onsite and the internationally renowned walled garden.

Mela back at Botanic


NORTHERN Ireland’s largest celebration of cultural diversity, the Belfast Mela returns to Botanic Gardens on Sunday, August 25 from 12 noon until 6pm for its biggest festival ever with principal sponsor Sensata Technologies.


Organised by ArtsEkta, one of Belfast’s leading arts and cultural organisations, this year’s Belfast Mela is set to provide a wonderful family day out to celebrate increasing cultural diversity with music, dance, food and much more from around the world.


UTV’s Paul Reilly and U105’s Carolyn Stewart will host the Belfast Mela on stage with UTV’s Julian


Simmons taking charge in Mela’s cookery theatre where local chefs and producers will give cookery demonstrations with global fl avours. THE Red Sails Festival is a week long programme of free entertainment and workshops organised by Portstewart Community Association. The Festival concludes with an amazing fi reworks fi nale organised by the Council Events Team at The Crescent, Portstewart.

The Portstewart Community Association Red Sails Festival runs from July 22 to 27. 2019. The Red Sails Festival off ers free entertainment for all ages and is organised by the local community in the area and supported by the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, and The Department For Communities. Everyone is welcome!
