East Anglia THREE Offshore Windfarm

Offshore baseline and initial findings

Ornithology Chapter 13: Preliminary Environmental Information Report We have completed two years of aerial bird surveys to support our impact assessment. We have found that the site is used by a range of species including kittiwakes, lesser black-backed gulls, red throated divers, fulmar and gannets. We are engaging with key organisations such

as Natural England and the RSPB to determine appropriate mitigation. A firm conclusion on the prediction of the scale of this impact cannot be made at this stage and the detail of this will be discussed further in our final Environmental Statement.

Marine Mammals Chapter 12: Preliminary Environmental Information Report

We have completed two years of marine mammal surveys to support our impact assessment. We have found that the site is used by a range of species including harbour seal, grey seal and harbour porpoise.

The key impact associated with marine mammals is construction noise. We are engaging

with key organisations such as Natural England and the Marine Management Organisation to determine appropriate mitigation. East Anglia THREE Limited would commit to: • The use of soft start piling and mitigation zones to ensure that marine mammals are a safe distance from the noise source before pile driving activities begin.
