Onshore baseline and initial findings
Noise Chapter 26: Preliminary Environmental Information Report We understand that the converter station and onshore cable route are proposed for development in rural settings near some residences. We have committed to a package of mitigation measures to minimise operational and construction noise, to be agreed with the local authorities. To manage construction noise we propose to: • Prepare an Outline Code of Construction Practice, based on that produced for East Anglia ONE, setting out measures to minimise noise during the construction phase.
The converter station may emit low levels of noise during operation, the impacts of which will vary with wind direction and atmospheric conditions. To minimise this, East Anglia THREE Limited would commit to: • Meeting strict operational noise limits (35dB at key residences), set by the relevant local planning authority.

Landscape and visual Chapter 29: Preliminary Environmental Information Report We appreciate the sensitivity of the local landscape and that is why we have committed to undergrounding the cables the entire 37km from the landfall at Bawdsey to the converter station at Bramford.
Most effects on the landscape would typically be short term, localised and reversible. Only at the converter station would there be long-term impacts. The site selected for the converter station is adjacent to the existing National Grid infrastructure and is well screened by existing woodland. In the Preliminary Environmental Information Report we have committed to: • Reducing long term impacts by suitable additional landscaping and planting to help screen the converter station.
