BBT ROUNDS UP THE LATEST BUSINESS TRAVEL INDUSTRY APPOINTMENTS


SHELLEY MATHEWS


Shelley Mathews has been appointed as UK sales director at Chambers Travel Group. With more than 15 years’ sales experience, she brings extensive business expertise after having previously held the head of sales position at ATPI for six years.


JOE THOMPSON Virgin Atlantic has appointed Joe Thompson as senior vice-president for sales and distribution. He moves into this role from his previous position as senior vice-president of network and alliances, after fulfilling a series of senior management roles.


TOM REEVES Kenya Airways has appointed Tom Reeves as area manager Europe and US. He has over 20 years’ experience in airline sales and joins Kenya Airways from Air France-KLM, where he was most recently the commercial director of the mid-Americas region.


PAUL SAGGAR


Paul Saggar has been appointed to the newly created role of director of digital strategy at Capita Travel and Events. Saggar joins the company with over 20 years’ business travel technology experience, most recently with Maybourne Hotel Group as IT director.


STEPHEN SHURROCK Travelport has appointed Stephen Shurrock as executive vice-president and chief commercial officer. He joins Travelport from Telefonica where he was CEO of its consumer division; prior roles include CEO of O2 Ireland and CEO of Telefonica’s digital business.


CHRISTOPHER NESS The Europcar company, Ubeeqo, has appointed Christopher Ness as its UK managing director. With over 15 years’ experience in fleet management, Ness’s prior roles include project manager with Telefonica UK and head specialist of fleets for Ryder.


ELIZABETH RANDALL-WINKLE Moving from her current position as managing director of London-based STR Global, STR has appointed Elizabeth Randall- Winkle as chief strategy officer. Prior to her previous role, Randall-Winkle served as STR Global’s director of operations.


ROY SIMES


Rotana Hotels and Resorts has appointed Roy Simes as the new area director of sales at its UK global sales office. Simes brings to the hotel management company more than 16 years’ experience. Past positions include director of sales at Hilton Worldwide.


CRAMER BALL Alitalia has appointed Cramer Ball as chief executive. He is due to take up the role in March. Ball was previously CEO at Jet Airways, and before that CEO at Air Seychelles, both equity partners of Etihad, where Ball previously served as regional general manager.

MATT ROBERTS


Serviced apartment company SACO has appointed Matt Roberts as head of sales and account management for London. Roberts has over 15 years’ industry experience and previously served as director of multinational sales for American Express Global Business Travel.


FAYE FORD


Having been with Go Native for over 11 years, Faye Ford has been awarded the newly created position of regional operations director. Ford’s previous roles range from finance and IT to client relationship management and, most recently, operations.


GRAHAM JOWERS


Graham Jowers has been appointed as account manager at Icelandair. He will focus on raising awareness of Icelandair’s Manchester and Birmingham services as gateway routes to 16 US cities. He has over 20 years’ travel industry experience.
