kbb Birmingham 2020 | SHOW REVIEW Trends from the show Here’s a few of the new innovations that caught our eye during the exhibition BORA | X Pure

Bora brought forward the offi cial launch of its new X Pure cooktop extractor line from Eurocucina to the kbb show. This extends its range of compact Pure induction cooktop extractors with new colours on its operating panel, extra features and a new design of air inlet nozzle. The range uses Bora’s sControl touch-control panel, which is centrally located just beneath the air inlet so as to maximise the size of the induction zones. An automatic power level function is said to make sure the level of extraction is suitable for the zone set to the highest power.

NOLTE KÜ CHEN | Torino Lack

Nolte’s stand was broken down by three main themes: kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. With each area featuring some of its latest design options. One of the highlights was Torino Lack, the latest front addition to the brand’s Matt Lacquer Concept, which now comprises 19 colours and fi ve door styles to mix and match. The soft matt colours on offer include arctic white, olive, rosehip, black, and deep blue. When combined with other signature elements, Torino Lack makes up Nolte Kü chen’s New Classic style.

1810 | Zen10 Options

Kbb 2020 was the launch pad for a host of new innovations from 1810, including the Zen10 Options range. This collection of undermount sinks – available in four different sizes – comes with a choice of accessories that are designed to turn the kitchen sink into a fl exible, multipurpose workstation. The range of natural bamboo accessories includes drying racks, garnish boards, colanders and chopping boards – all treated with wood wax to ensure suitability for kitchen use. The Zenduo10 1100 model, with chopping board, garnish board and drying rack, is pictured.

CAMBRIA | 20 new designs

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, American quartz surfaces manufacturer Cambria was showcasing 20 new designs. These ranged from the subtle white tones of Smithfi eld, Malvern and Whitby through greys and heavily veined options such as Britanicca Block and Portrush (pictured), Harrogate and Clovelly from the Luxury Series and the subtly veined blacks of Charlestown and Woodcroft. Also on show were its new 6mm thin-profi le slabs, dramatically back-lit on the end of the stand and on individual mini table displays.

BLUM | Space Step

Blum was using its 324sq m stand to showcase some of its latest innovations – including a booth demonstrating Alexa opening and closing cabinets by voice command. Something else that caught our eye was the Space Step. This step and plinth pull-out system extends with a single touch to allow access to higher levels in the kitchen. A family- friendly solution, users can safely and easily access worktops, sinks, and washbasins. It is suitable for step heights of 150mm to 250mm and cabinet widths ranging from 400mm to 1,200mm.

BSH | Wine cabinets

Among the new products on show from Neff, Bosch and Siemens was its wine cabinet collection – available from all three brands for different customer profi les and price points. Available from autumn, the models come in a variety of sizes and are designed to provide carefully controlled conditions for the long- term storage of wine. The smallest takes 21 bottles and the largest 199 bottles. Some models in the range feature separate temperature zones for champagne, white and red wine. All can be set between 5°C and 20°C.
