Supplier profi le: How Vado is enhancing its support for showrooms pg 40
The kbbreview Interview: Chris Braam on AEG Electrolux’s win-win ethos pg 36
O EDITOR’S COMMENT
ARE WE FAILING AT DIVERSITY?
ver its 40-year history, kbbreview has become known for tackling the most diffi cult and challenging industry issues and this edition is no diff erent.
In this month’s analysis [pages 32-34] we explore the issue of diversity in the KBB sector. Is the industry failing on diversity and inclusion? Is it more of a moral obligation or could it actually help your business be more successful?
The analysis looks at how we might solve
the ongoing skills gap crisis by opening the sector up to a broader pool of talent, asking how all stakeholders might otherwise benefi t, and shine a light on those organisations making positive changes towards greater inclusivity.
Whatever your own personal views may be on the subject, it’s a conversation that needs to be had.
Elsewhere in the issue there is a lot of support for bricks-and-mortar showrooms. In his interview [pages 36-38] Chris Braam, the new head of AEG Electrolux in Europe, reveals how the brand is improving its processes in order to meet the needs of independent kitchen studios and provide them with the right service levels.
On the bathroom side, we talk to MD Andy Baines and product and marketing director, Angela Neve, about how Vado is taking advantage of the change in competition law in order to strengthen its support for the bricks-and-mortar retailers that have invested in the brand [supplier profi le, pages 40-42].
And last, but by no means least, a reminder that you only have until November 16 to get your entries in for the kbbreview Retail and Design Awards 2024. Remember folks, these are the industry’s biggest and most prestigious awards in the KBB sector. If you design, retail, install or supply kitchens and bathrooms and are based in the UK or Ireland, you are eligible to enter. Simply head to
kbbreview.com/ awards to fi nd out more.
