Synseal has streamlined bead tool manufacturing using Greiner’s
Red.Tooling
has managed to streamline its bead tool manufacturing by teaming up with Greiner Extrusion of Austria. “We wanted to set a new benchmark in linear output of 8m/min per strand, up from the previous 5m/ min,” said Steve Scurrell, works manager at the Nottinghamshire-based company. The company said that
Red.Tooling from Greiner Extrusion helped it to hit its target – and, in the process, boost output by 70% while cutting energy and water consumption by 40%. At the same time, there was at least an 80% saving in the vacuum requirement. “The new tooling system also has fewer moving parts,” said Scurrell. “That reduces cleaning time, and the machine is simpler to handle. As it’s a modular design, set-up time is much shorter. That means less chance of production difficulties due to human error.” Synseal has grown dramatically since starting in
1980, expanding to a full range of windows, doors, roofs and hardware. “That’s why developing
Red.Tooling made so much sense for us,” he said. “It’s paying back handsomely.”
