news Vip moves into pipe extrusion

US-based Vip Rubber and Plastic has moved into pipe extrusion – by buying the plastic pipe division of Excalibur Extrusions. Both companies are based in California, on the west coast

of the USA. Vip has a second facility in Nevada. Vip was formed in 1951. It is

a custom extruder of plastic and rubber profiles, as well as rubber sheet, and employs more than 150 people.

Howard Vipperman,

president of Vip, said: “We are excited to welcome Excalibur to our team. We already extrude rubber and plastic, and produce rubber sheet, so the addition of plastic pipe to

our capabilities gives out customers an even wider scope of custom options.” Vip has been manufacturing

for 55 years, while Excalibur was formed over 40 years ago. ❙ www.viprubber.com

Innovation in bi-oriented PVC-O pipe extrusion

Wavin developed a unique and patented inline extrusion process for PVC-O pipe.

Feedstock pipe is oriented in hoop and axial direction, therewith vastly increasing the pipe strength and toughness.

This is the world’s most successful PVC-O extrusion technology, ensuring high outputs and lowest pipe-overweight.

The process can manufacture sizes up to 500mm in MRS50 material (world 1st) and pressures up to PN25.

All over the world we granted partners production licenses. We commissioned 20 PVC-O extrusion lines globally.

Wavin offers its PVC-O technology for license in selected countries. Please get in touch via contact details below.
