New People, New Products Welcome to the latest issue of Extrusion Solutions.

As we head into the final quarter of 2016 I’m happy to report that business continues to be strong at ENTEK. Our Extruders group is on track for another record year, and our lead-acid battery separator business has been producing product at a record pace for both existing and new customers.

Dr . Kirk Hanawalt

To keep up with this growth we have added a number of new employees in all departments including sales, engineering, and manufacturing. Two of our new appointments, Kristina Corona and Kelsey Dennis, are featured in this newsletter. Some of you may have already spoken to Kristina or Kelsey when calling in to check on the status of a project; they have joined our sales department and are providing much- needed and valuable internal support. Please join me in welcoming them to our team.

Our Newest Twin-Screw Extruder

When Construction Specialties chose to purchase an ENTEK 73mm twin-screw extruder

, they

did so because of their confidence that ENTEK’

s

support didn’t end with the sale of the machine; it was only just beginning.

We’re pleased to announce our newest product, the QC3

33mm twin-screw

extruder (see article on p. 3). This new machine fills a need for many small- lot compounders. Our 27mm twin- screw extruder is designed for lab environments, and our 43mm is ideal for small to medium-sized lots. The new 33mm is in-between, specifically designed for small lots, but with more output than the lab machine.

The 33mm is the latest addition to our QC3™

line of co-rotating twin-screw

extruders, which includes the 27mm, 33mm, 43mm, and 53mm models. All of these machines feature Quick-Change, Quick-Clean, and Quality Control features designed to help compounders improve their processing with faster, easier operations, and produce better quality end products.

The cover story in this issue of Extrusion Solutions provides an interesting look at what we feel is one of ENTEK’s strongest attributes – the ability to help customers succeed with their unique processing challenges.

When Construction Specialties chose to purchase an ENTEK 73mm twin- screw extruder, they did so because of their confidence that ENTEK’s support didn’t end with the sale of the machine; it was only just beginning. They valued the processing knowledge of our sales and support team, who worked to help them produce high-quality polyester sheet and provided valuable technical advice on things like screw design, optimal melt temperature, and a customized control solution.

We pride ourselves on providing this type of support for all of our customers. How can we help you? Let us know.

Thank you to all of our customers for their continued support.

As always, I encourage you to contact me anytime at khanawalt@entek.com.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kirk Hanawalt President, ENTEK Extruders
