Kitchen safety

Skip the knives Buy precut onions, celery, carrots and other veggies in the produce department. And don’t forget frozen veggies. Once thawed, they can be used in all sorts of dishes.

Microwave 1, 2, 3 While microwaves can be handy for quick meals, don’t let kids use them until you’ve taught them the basics: 1. Never use metal bowls or utensils. 2. Plastic can melt. Use microwave-safe dishes only. 3. Always use oven mitts or potholders when removing heated foods.
