ALUMNI ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Cynthia “Cindy” Saver ’84 is editor of the newly released Anatomy of Writing for Publication for Nurses, 2nd edition, published by Sigma Theta Tau
International Honor Society of Nurses.
Patricia (Few) Dodge ’95 celebrated her 1,000th birth since becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife. She is currently in private practice in Gahanna, Ohio,
at Carepoint Gahanna OB-GYN.
Delbar Shirazi ’96 completed her MBA in Health Care Management from Columbia Southern University in September 2014 with a 4.0 GPA.
Michael Nolan ’98 currently works as the chief financial officer for the Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office in Washington, D.C.
MaryEllen Tancred ’05 was inducted as an honorary member of Franklin University ‘s Healthcare Honor Society, Scientia Pietas Veritas
(SciPi) in October 2014. She participated in Franklin University’s Learning Showcase in November 2014, featuring an abstract and poster titled “Learner Interest, Reading Comprehension, and Achievement in Web-Based Learning.” Tancred graduated with distinction from Capella University in 2012 with a Ph.D. in education specializing in instructional design for online learning. She is an associate professor and coordinator for both Medical Laboratory Technology and Multi-Competency Health Programs at Columbus State Community College.
Jonda Vance ’06 passed the examination and received certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Manager of Quality/ Organizational Excellence in March 2014.
William Gebis ’08 joined Law Offices of Jeanne M. Miller, LLC as an associate attorney focused in areas of family law, business law and real estate law.
Elizabeth “Liz” (Boehm) Highley ’09 received the Legal Marketing Association 2014 International Rising Star Award. This award is given to one person in the 3,500-member organization annually, based on contributions to the profession, the association and the community. She also received a 2013 SoMe Impact Award from Smart Business News. She is currently the senior marketing and business development manager at the Benesch Law Firm in Cleveland.
Hanna Joy Larson ‘09 married Daniel Rose on Aug. 4, 2013, at Bayside Baptist Church in Superior, Wisc.
Daniel Robledo‘10, ’12 accepted a position with Northrop Grumman in Atlanta as a web developer supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He will assist health communicators across the agency by contributing to make content, tools and services more widely available and accessible to clinicians, health practitioners and the general public for both English and Spanish online communication channels.
Cinda Harrold ’11 successfully passed the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam on her first attempt.
Janell Blanco ’12 is Pearson Certified to be a test proctor for all tests administered by Pearson. In July 2014, she completed her master’s degree in early childhood education with a 4.0 GPA.
Shawnda Schelinder ’12 is the director of marketing and enrollment at Pine Technical College.
Brandee (Wilson) Terry ’12 welcomed Mason Alexander Terry who was born Nov. 20, 2013, in Elmira, N.Y.
Domonique Chapman ’13 started a nonprofit organization called Valiant Women’s Association. The organization has three focus areas, which mirror an important aspect of life for each of the founders: HIV prevention/awareness/ community health engagement, women and youth empowerment, and poverty. She is currently a student in Capella University’s doctorate of public health- epidemiology program.
Terrence Hollar ’14 was inducted into Franklin University’s chapter of Epsilon Pi Phi Emergency Management Honor Society and is now a student in Franklin’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) program.
Matthew Sabo ’14 was accepted into the Epsilon Pi Phi Emergency Management National Honor Society and currently serves on the Franklin
University Alumni Advisory Board for the Public Safety Management programs. He recently completed Fire Officer 3 certification and is now studying for a promotion to fire chief.
Maureen Gatewood ’14 is the director of information services for the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F). In this role she manages the development and maintenance of information technology systems, operations, hardware and software for the organization.

The family of MaryAnn D’Ippolito, ’04, ’08, gathered in her memory to place a brick inscribed with her name and class year in the courtyard adjacent to Alumni Hall. MaryAnn’s passion for education and Franklin was ingrained in her family. Her son James (’04) and daughter Joanne (’99), along with her nephew Jon Schmitt (’00, ’14) are all also graduates of Franklin University
