IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, WHAT CAR
WOULD YOU BUY? I like the idea of the electric cars, Tesla, but I think I would still stick with Audi. I like the understated nature, I might upgrade though!
IF YOU COULD INVENT ONE PRODUCT TO MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? That one is easy; a crystal ball! In our sector, we watch projects being built from the ground up and quite often, the first we hear that our products are required is the day before 5,000m2
is needed on
site. How a supplier is supposed to predict this I will never know.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
I was an Electronic Engineer
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE TILE
& STONE INDUSTRY? Whilst working in engineering for the largest underlay manufacturer in the UK, I was asked to try sales and it seemed to work! From there I moved up in the world into carpets. This being a bit more visual, it had a better story than underlay. After that, I managed to start with Saloni UK to help set up their construction/house building division.

WHO, IN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY, DO YOU
MOST ADMIRE? You have to admire people like Richard Branson and Alan Sugar. They appear to have a natural entrepreneurial flair. It seems their skills can transfer across any business sector.
— 40 — 6
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE
GROWING UP? I wanted to be a pilot or a sailor. I’ve done both, but just as a hobby.
7 8
WHAT DO YOU DO TO UNWIND?
Walking the dogs with my other half, and I love sailing along the south coast to unwind.
IF YOU COULD HOST A DINNER PARTY WITH ANY
THREE GUESTS, DEAD OR ALIVE WHO WOULD THEY BE
AND WHY? Nelson Mandela to understand the battle he undertook in life, Tim Berners-Lee to see if I could glean some of his foresight and Robin Knox Johnston because as a novice sailor myself, I would love to hear some of his stories about the determination you need to succeed in this type of venture.
9
IF YOU COULD VISIT ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD,
WHERE WOULD YOU GO? There is so much to see and not enough time, but basically anywhere I have never been before, to experience something new.

REBEKAH THOMPSON, EDITOR OF TOMORROW’S
TILE & STONE ASKED: IF YOU HAD TO REDESIGN YOUR HOME, USING ONLY ONE STYLE OF TILE THROUGHOUT,
WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE? I love the grey, large formats of 45x90, 90x90, 120x60 such as our Proyeccion, Quarz or Majestic. I would use this throughout my property to create a seamless flowing floor taking it out to the patio so the inside can be outdoors and vice-versa. So many people insist on a very high slip resistance that changes the look for the outside, but there is no need.
