MARBLE-OUS RESULT FOR RESIDENTIAL REFURB

Granite Marble and Limestone Ltd (GML) were appointed as the stone contractor to create multiple rooms (which included a luxury master bathroom and the ground floor area -

incorporating the foyer, kitchen, dining room and living room) for a large residential property based in the W2 area of London.

GML provided the full project management service for the London- based estate, co-ordinating every step by working from images and architect’s drawings, identifying and sourcing the correct materials and finally completing the whole installation. Working closely with the client and their architect from the start and using their initial ideas and images was paramount to the success of this particular project.

The layout was approved and installed with particular emphasis placed on the veins symmetry when viewing from the entrance to the bathroom and the bath panel (in Arabescato slab) which became a key element of the layout. This created a challenge for the project manager, as the book- matching was to radiate from a very particular spot on the flooring.

The fall to the shower required co- ordination with the glazing installers to ensure the shower screen was rebated into the floor and wall with minimum disruption, the top rail of the stone had to have a rebate for

an LED lighting strip (which was a later feature) accommodated whilst on-site. The floors and walls were polished with the exception of the shower tray, where slip resistance was provided to the shower area by running a series of parallel rebate lines through it; which was highly effective and ensured a continuity of vein pattern throughout the floor.
