Most organisations hold events and welcome visitors, whether they are small corporate gatherings or large public events. Health and safety is a priority consideration and compliance requirement for all companies, but can often be perceived as a hindrance.

The CoE delivers a Managing Safety at Events and Exhibitions Course, specifically focusing on Health and Safety in a spectator or visitor environment. Run over four days, it is aimed at Event Managers and operations staff with health and safety responsibilities - and enables health and safety managers to get up to speed whilst learning from the experts.

WHAT TO CONSIDER Companies need to undertake a thorough overview and assessment at the instigation of the project/event, which will enable the planner to identify risks, hazards and concerns, looking to predict the ‘curve ball’ and mitigate it. A prescribed planning process identifies key stakeholders, roles, responsibilities, and milestones across a time line, to provide consistency of approach.
