Most diners go to a restaurant to enjoy themselves and are not usually on the lookout for evidence of poor hygiene. But if such evidence exists,

And hygiene standards are becoming more transparent all the time. In 2019, new legislation is due to come in making it compulsory for food- serving businesses in England to display their Food Standard Agency hygiene ratings. At present it is only compulsory in Wales and Northern Ireland and simply recommended in England. Once the new laws come in even more of us will be made aware of the hygiene standards at the restaurants we visit.
Today’s increasing concern with hygiene and cleanliness, coupled with the fact that images and videos of any hygiene lapses are so easily captured and shared, means that restaurant hygiene has never been as important as it is now. So it is up to everyone involved in the running of a restaurant to ensure that high standards are consistently being met and upheld.
