TWO MORE FUTURE COLOUR TRENDS REVEALED BY

ANTRON In the latest edition of its Global Trend Forecast and in association with Global Color Research, INVISTA’s Antron carpet fibre has revealed global influences on colour within commercial interiors.

Discovering that our increasing sensorial and immersive engagement with products is driving our relationship with colour, key themes have been identified as shaping colour through the next two years.

One of these themes, Make Shift investigates how we look towards a return to ‘honest making’ to create a culture where the narrative of the product is key, providing comfort and a sense of familiarity. The DIY aesthetic sees alternative methods of making

GRADUS’ BRONZE STAIR EDGINGS FITTED TO THE

EIFFEL TOWER Contract interior specialist Gradus has supplied their bronze stair edgings to the Eiffel Tower as part of a £24million restoration programme at the world famous landmark.

Standing 324m above the Paris skyline, the Eiffel Tower is France’s most visited tourist attraction. In the first renovation operation to be carried out at the tower in almost 30 years, the first-floor platform has been transformed with the installation of a gangway and glass panels all the way round the central void, to give visitors the impression of walking on air, 57m above the ground. The restoration work took place over two years, during which the tower remained open to the public.

Anthony Roberts, Product Marketing Manager for Gradus, commented: “We are very honoured to have been involved in the restoration of such a prestigious

through hybrid designs that mix and match materials to create new products with a hand worked quality. Encouraging creativity and experimentation, ordinary and luxury materials are combined to create effects spontaneous and individual where no two products are the same. These influences create a palette that is rich and intriguing, evoking a positive mood within an industrial theme.

The final theme in the Global Trend Forecast comes in Immersive Tactility, an exploration of how user

experience puts focus on both visual and physical texture. With attention focused on multi-sensory elements that encourage interaction, we are invited to engage on a deeper level to enhance our experience. Texture and colour are combined to create sensorial environments that enhance the tactile experience and lead us to better consumer-product relationships. Here the palette is filled with bold colours combined with greyed-off pastels to create curious juxtapositions.

The Global Trend Forecast project is used by INVISTA to support its carpet manufacturing customers, helping to develop new colours, foresee trends and contribute towards product development. Now in its third edition, Antron Global Color Trend 2015/2016 reveals more in an informative booklet featuring references for all colours, which are available in Antron Lumena carpet fibre.

million visitors a year, the staircases at the Eiffel Tower see exceptionally heavy traffic on a daily basis, so it was crucial to specify fit-for-purpose stair edgings with a proven track record.

“The products chosen for this project are robust and ensure safe travel, and just as importantly, the opulent bronze profiles compliment the tower’s magnificence.

“Whilst we are relied upon to deliver exceptional quality and service to many worldwide iconic projects, this one stands-out and particularly resonates with us.”

Gradus’ Traditional Bronze stair edgings have been installed on 20 staircases that guide visitors from the upper deck to the scenic view promenade. The profiles feature a slip-resistant insert, which maximises underfoot contact and reduces the risk of slips, trips and falls.
