FLOORCARE & MAINTENANCE JUST ADD WATER

We hear more about the Preparation Group’s recently launched STG400 machine and how, by using this and its range

of Diamond Pads, floor cleaners are presented with a highly efficient, chemical-free maintenance solution.

Combining The Preparation Group’s recently launched STG400 machine with its range of Diamond Pads, presents a highly efficient floor cleaning and maintenance solution for hard surfaces, just by adding water. The system delivers a clean and polished surface without harsh chemicals, cleaners, waxes or polishes. The result is a high gloss shine on stone, concrete, marble, terrazzo, vinyl, linoleum, epoxy resin and SL floors.

The STG400 is specifically designed for light grinding, refurbishment, cleaning and polishing. It offers the perfect combination of long- life motor, weight and speed and features a simple lever operation and ergonomic handle for safe and comfortable operation. There is an optional suction ring when using it dry, to minimise dust pollution when attaching it to a suitable vacuum unit such as the 202DS.

The STG400 is easily adapted for multi-functional use and to undertake different operations in a restricted timetable by interchanging accessories and plates. Accessories require no fitting, simply place on the floor, position the STG400 on top under the drive plate and you're ready to start working.

The Preparation Group’s Storm Diamond Pads have been developed for use with surface texturing, auto scrubbing, burnishing and polishing machines, as well as the STG400 and the company’s STG450. The pads offer a complete system for daily floor cleaning and maintenance. They are available in 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 grades:

400 (red) – for heavy duty floor cleaning and renovation on extremely soiled, stained, old floors. Also for the deep cleaning of damaged or scratched floors and for removing surface contaminants to leave a soft sheen, ready to be polished.

800 (white) – for the general cleaning of heavily soiled floors; removing light scratches and staining from areas of heavy traffic and restoring the floor back to its original condition, leaving a light gloss finish.

1500 (yellow) – for the general cleaning and maintenance of lightly soiled floors. It is the most popular pad for quick and effective maintenance and results in a gloss finish.

3000 (green) – for areas of light traffic. It can be used for the daily maintenance of a ‘sound’ floor where the ultimate shine is desired and needs to be maintained. It leaves a high gloss/mirror finish which will resist dirt.

The coarsest 400 pad is designed to effectively refurbish surfaces by removing the build-up of grime. This can then be followed by working up through the finer grades to achieve a deep clean and high shine polish. Through extensive trails, the finer 1500 and 3000 grade pads have been proven to effectively remove light scratches and maintain vinyl to a high gloss finish.

Tracey Glew, Managing Director of the Preparation Group said: “The STG400 machine was launched earlier this year in response to cleaning contractors looking for a lighter machine that purely cleans and polishes hard floor surfaces. However, through extensive field testing, the 400 has also been found to be highly effective at floor refurbishment from sanding timber floors through to removing laitance on screeds. The Storm Diamond Pads are double sided for twice the value and are manufactured with up to 33% more diamond content than competitor brands, resulting in greater metre coverage per hour for quicker, more effective results. As a guide, each pad will cover up to 60,000m² in total before it will need to be changed – they often last even longer.”

To also fit the STG400, there are double-sided TCT (copper) discs for texturing and cleaning concrete and Silicon Carbide (black) sanding discs for light grinding and keying.
