New Low-Flow Features for Mobile App Save Time in the Field

The latest and greatest in water monitoring mobile technology – the VuSitu app for Android™ -- is compatible for low-fl ow sampling with both the In-Situ smarTROLL Multiparameter Handheld and the Aqua TROLL 600 Multiparameter Sonde. Building upon the foundation of iSitu, In-Situ’s iOS mobile app, VuSitu Low-Flow allows the same managed workfl ow as iSitu.

All well, site, and pump related information can be entered electronically. Pumping rates can be calculated with In-Situ’s automated calculation function.

All test readings and stabilisation criteria are handled automatically, reducing errors and overhead.

Sample information can be entered electronically and integrated with your reports for easy tracking through the whole sampling process.

Test information can be viewed and shared in both secure .pdf and interactive .csv formats. — All of the above, right on your smartphone or tablet!

VuSitu’s Low-Flow implementation also adds some key improvements over previous low-fl ow software versions. Tests can be started immediately before entering all of the test information, meaning you can start the process faster and ultimately limit the time spent on each test.

Drawdown and total volume pumped are automatically calculated if the proper information was entered during the test.

With the ability to pair the Aqua TROLL 600 and its turbidity sensor with In-Situ’s

software, there’s no longer a need to pair a stand-alone turbidity meter for your tests! Check out the VuSitu app on the Google Play Store, or give In-Situ Europe a call at +44 (0)121 733 7743 to rent or purchase, and start saving time today!

Water quality monitoring doesn’t have to be a costly exercise if you’re using the AP-700 or AP-800 Aquaprobe packages from Aquaread. These cost effective packages contain everything you need to begin monitoring your water.

Included in a package is the multiparameter Aquaprobe with 3m cable with metal connector, one of our GPS Aquameters, some Rapidcal calibration solution, a spare DO membrane cap, some pH storage solution and DO fi lling solution, a set of batteries for the meter and a screwdriver to install them, a USB cable and the AquaLink PC application. This full set is housed within one of our hard cases with foam cutouts for all items included.

Both probes feature a newly designed, long life, replaceable galvanic dissolved oxygen sensor combined with our robust, fi eld-proven 4 ring conductivity

sensor. The AP-800 Aquaprobe features our latest turbidity sensor, utilising tough sapphire lenses for the highest quality optical response.

The Aquaprobes are made from marine grade, hard-anodized aluminium for deployment in both fresh and marine environments. The dense cable included in the package is strengthened with a Kevlar core for increased tensile strength and connects to the Aquaread GPS Aquameter with a rugged metal connector.

The GPS meter is designed to be easy to use, quickly capturing data with one key press. The integrated GPS feature allows each data set to have its location logged, making it the ideal package for any surface or ground water application.

Non-contact and Reliable Open Channel Flow Monitoring with New Radar Sensor

SOMMER Messtechnik is expanding its radar sensor equipment to the water and wastewater market. The new SOMMER SQ Flow Meter Series measures reliably and without direct contact to the (waste) water both, the water level and the fl ow velocity. With the cross section profi le given and based on an advanced, self-adapting hydraulic

model, the smart sensor conveniently outputs your actual and exact discharge rates at all times. With the different sensor types SQ-3, SQ-6 and SQ-8R according to the maximum water level to be measured, the SQ Series is most suitable for installations in wastewater, sewer systems and for open channel fl ow measurement.

More than three decades of experience in hydrology and environmental monitoring build the ground for SOMMER’s newest innovations. The SQ is suggested for all kinds of open technical channels as well as semi-fi lled pipes and ducts, where submerged type sensors frequently fail due to soiling and deposits on the equipment. Incorporating the latest radar and ultrasonic technology the SQ Flow Meter however ensures reliable measurements avoiding direct contact with the water. Consequently expenses for maintenance and service are reduced to a minimum. The sensor can be installed very easily from above the water body (e.g. on a cross-beam) where it is to be reached much easier too.

Various interface connections like SDI-12, RS 485, Modbus, Profi bus, analogue or pulse signal guarantee a trouble-free implementation into new or also existing systems. The SQ Flow Meter certainly is a must-have fl ow monitoring equipment to all responsible in water management, sewage systems and wastewater treatment plants.
