Hi Carol. We checked, and there is no problem with the phone mast on your block. Might be worth talking to your phone company again. Thanks.
Dear the Key Why were the lift areas/ foyers in Lincoln Avenue flats refurbished two years ago, but the lifts replaced this year so they have had to destroy the new tiling and wooden surrounds on the lift doors? Whose bright idea was it to waste all that money two years ago only for it to be ripped out again? Surely GHA knew they were going to replace the lifts in the blocks before they refurbished all the foyers.
Heather Merry, Lincoln Avenue
Hi Heather. Work on replacing the lifts at Lincoln Avenue was due to start in 2020, but we decided to bring it forward to this year because the lifts were breaking down too often. During the work we’ll have to take off some of the tiles in the foyer, but we’ll replace these tiles once we’ve finished the work. Unfortunately the external panels of the new lifts are larger than the original panels and the wooden surrounds can’t be put back on again. Hope this helps. Thanks.
Dear the Key Would it be possible to have some of the trees to the rear of our garden cut back? They become a hazard to me in winter when the leaves fall into my path. I’ve lived here since 1987 and
they have never been cut back. I would appreciate this very much, as would my neighbours.
Wilma Christie, Penilee Terrace
You’re on our list, Wilma, and our arborists will get to you as soon as they can.
Dear the Key I am really interested in one of the new build homes that are being built in Hinshelwood Drive in Ibrox. I was born and brought up in the area and I’m really keen to get back there.
Elaine Paterson, Bellahouston
We’ve spoken to you about this, Elaine. Best thing is to get in touch with your local GHA office and ask for a Housing Options interview. Your housing officer will help you find a home that is suitable for your needs. Thanks.
Dear the Key Do you have any plans to replace the storage heaters in the flats in Torphin Cresent, Greenfield? As I work all day, paying for heat that is not getting used seems pointless. They’re not economically effective, saving heat at night for daytime use.
From Richard Hewitt, Greenfield
Hi Richard. Unfortunately, we don’t have any plans to upgrade heating systems in Greenfield at the moment. We’ll look at this in the future, though. In the meantime, we’ve arranged an appointment with a fuel advisor who can give you advice on cutting your bills.
