Welcome to the May issue
It’s not long to go until the Community Carnival on Saturday 15th July. If you would like to have a stall at the Family Fun Day or a fl oat in the Carnival, see page 6 or the Lytchett Minster and Upton Carnival Facebook page, where you will also fi nd details of the week-long Community Art & Music Festival, which leads up to the Carnival itself.
There seems to be a keep fit message this month! The Council shares the timings for new cycling facilities on page 10, and Cycle Paths has a great article on page 17 about encouraging the people of Poole to get fitter through cycling, with their new club #FixingPoole. For youngsters, The Junction Leisure Centre advertises its new junior pilates classes (pg15) and Broadstone Physiotherapy & Aquatherapy promotes the new classes in its aquatherapy pool on page 29.
It is Hillside Vets’ 20th birthday party on Friday 19th May and they are welcoming old, new and future clients into their practice on Wareham Road to celebrate with a drink and nibbles (pg19). Also celebrating soon is 1st Upton Guides, which has a 100th birthday party at the Community Centre on Saturday 3rd June – all current and previous members are welcome to attend (pg32).
If you haven’t already, why not try your luck by entering the Julia’s House weekly lottery? It is a great way to regularly support a local charity, while being in with a chance of winning £1,000! See page 37 for details.
As always, please do get in touch if you are interested in advertising your business, organisation or event in the magazine. We would love to speak to you.
