ASSOCIATIONS
Anniversary: 2017 marks 50 years since Alfred Ernest Haseler founded the District Heating Association
It was the Association’s vision to ensure that the many new towns being built at that time were not heated using “outdated or wasteful methods”. In 1985 it became the Combined Heat and Power Association and in 2015 it was renamed to the Association for Energy.

Consultancy and Engineering Awards
Decentralised
Some 50 years later, while technology, the social and political landscape and most of the Association’s members have changed, many of the Association’s core aims and objectives remain the same. The challenge of tackling fuel poverty and poor health caused by
inadequate domestic heating is still with us. Energy prices are increasing and our future is one where fossil fuel supplies will be costly and scarce. The work of the ADE is more relevant than ever in helping people to understand the many benefits of an integrated approach to delivering energy. We strive for a more cost effective, efficient and user orientated energy system. We want users – from large industrial manufacturers to householders – to benefit from a more efficient, decentralised energy system, through technologies such as district heating, combined heat and power and demand side energy services. There is great potential to be unlocked, and the ADE will continue that role, to be the foremost advocate for user-led energy and our members who make that change possible.
Don’t Miss The ADE Awards 2017 held at the Science Museum , London, on October 19th, 2017 The Association for Decentralised Energy's 50th Anniversary Awards will be held at the Science Museum on 19th October 2017. The annual Awards showcase innovation, best practice and achievements across combined heat and power, district heating and demand side energy services, and provide an opportunity for organisations and professionals from across the growing sector to celebrate success and collective attainment. This year's Awards will be held at the fascinating Science Museum. The Awards will be presented in the Imax Theatre followed by dinner underneath the planes in the Flight gallery. Earlybird tickets are on sale now through Eventbrite. For sponsorship opportunities, please see the following flyer for The Individual
Awards Sponsorship opportunities, and speak to John Bryant - 0203 031 8740. In the ADE’s 50th year – and the 10th year of the Awards – we are taking the opportunity to celebrate a decade of innovation and inspiration, of delivery and determination. We want to hear the impact your project has had in terms of carbon, cost, social value and/or policy shift. We want to see the difference you’ve made to your customers or your onsite efficiency, and recognise the schemes and ideas that have truly advanced our industry. We are looking for good news stories to help celebrate and promote our industry’s achievements. We want to hear how your project made a difference, about the journey you took people on and the impact you’ve made. The entry forms are short and have been designed to help you tell your story. The entries must be technically robust, but we’re looking for a human angle too. How did it come about? What was the need? Who did you work with? What challenges did you face? What was your solution? What impact did it have?
