The only thing all sides agree on is that everyone wants excellent schools in Nebraska and we all feel we have achieved that goal. The concern is if everyone is paying their share of the cost (or if not), how would the playing field be leveled? Are there weight limits on roads that farmers and equipment dealers must abide by?


When LB 977 passed in 2016, it eliminated any weight restrictions on implements of husbandry and agricultural equipment on roadways of the state.


However, counties may still restrict weight on roads they deem necessary. This must be done by an ordinance passed at city or county meetings and the roadway limits must be posted. [Note: They can only limit for 180 days of the year.]
